It’s summertime and the living is easy, unless your hair decides to put up a frizz-filled fight.

The last thing we want to do when it’s hot and humid outside is spend time heat-styling our hair. If you’re anything like us, your efforts end up being null and void as soon as you step outside as heat wreaks havoc on your style. Frizzy lioness mane? Yeah, no thanks.

We’ve rounded up a few of our favorite hairstyles to help you look put together, even on the hottest summer day.

Sleek Low Pony

Fresh out the shower? No problem. Simply add a bit of styling gel to damp hair or oil to dry hair. Smooth your strands from your part down, secure with an elastic, and wrap a small section around the pony to dress it up. This style looks great parted on the side, too.

The Fun Bun

Also known as the “get sh*t done bun,” messy bun, etc. A go-to for busy beauties (Moms included!), this style works well with hair that hasn’t seen shampoo in a day or two. Pile it up, wrap it and twist it, secure with a ponytail holder, and go. Use bobby pins for the stray hairs…and make it messier by pulling a few wispies down around your face.

The Tousled Pixie

Short hair, don’t care! A cut is always an option when the weather heats up….can you imagine how good it must feel to have all that hair off of your neck?! Make sure you choose a trusted professional stylist who knows what cut would work best for your hair texture.

Braids on Braids on Braids

A braid of any kind can take your look from undone to done in a matter of minutes. We love Blake Lively’s high-pony fishtail braid above. If you hair is on the shorter side, a crown braid or messy double-dutch braids will do the trick.

Bed Head

Also known as messy curls, beach waves, or natural texture. The best part about this look is that you get to work with your hair’s natural texture…so no blow-drying! Refresh by spraying some dry shampoo at the root for sexy, second-day hair.

The Topknot

A simple half-up, half-down look is great too but we love how fun and flirty this style is. Working with leftover curls or natural texture, section the top part of your hair and wrap it similar to a messy bun. We love to loosen the top and add height by the crown. Secure with pins or an elastic, spray with texturizing spray, and voila! Summer style ON POINT!

Whether it’s a summertime festival, backyard BBQ, or day-to-day activity you’re planning for, one of these hairstyles is sure to be a fit.
